Ian Alan Paul (American, b. 1984) is a transdisciplinary artist and theorist whose practice examines the conjuncture of politics and aesthetics in a wide range of global contexts. His work is formally diverse and is informed by continental philosophy, critical theory, and contemporary communist and anarchist thought. Over his career, Ian has been based in the United States, Mexico, Spain, Egypt, and Palestine.
Ian has taught, given lectures, and exhibited internationally, and received a PhD in Film and Digital Media Studies from UC Santa Cruz in 2016 as well as a hybrid MFA/MA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2011.
